Makes you wonder if SPARTAN armor should be standard for Starfleet Marines. It would add something to a ground engagement but then I'm a man who prefers ship-vs-ship or fleet engagements. ;D
I admit it. I'm Fleet.

Maybe Starfleet has something comparable to MJOLNIR armor for the Marine Corps. There were dramatic reasons why Starfleet infantry was portrayed as it was in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. But I would prefer to think that they would issue more protection to Starfleet ground troops or Marines. I tend to think that the canon examples were exceptions rather than norms or how ground troops are normally equipped. The UH-144 Falcon rotary transport looks cool. But from an aerodynamic perspective, the design makes no sense. "Fleet does the flying, MI does the dying!" ;D

I'd definitely love to see some of the weapons used in HALO for Starfleet Marines. However, I'm Starfleet so I'll be flyin'.
